Art has become for me "therapy". I can celebrate happy occasions or work through sad or difficult times by creating art. I love creating special art for others. I often use old family pictures in my pieces and feel good about giving them birth again. I love to laugh,am very sentimental, and cry more happy tears than sad ones. Loyalty, honesty, and sharing good things with others is important to me. I enjoy seeing all the new art of artists friends and am learning something new every day! Laughing makes better wrinkles on your face!

I am 59 years old, work full time in A/R and try to find time in my craft room to just be me. I have been married to Kevin for 27 years as of Dec this year and we have a nice family of cats. Right now we have 6 three girls and three boys and I don't know what we would do without them. Sammie is one of the girls, she's about six years old and she spends lots of time with me in my craft room talking to me and watching out the window for something great. Two years ago I got my first Tattoo, which I have always wanted, and I just got my 5th one in Sept - a picture of one of my kitties. Now Mr. Boo is always with me. He is two and a really big scardy cat!!


I have been making cards for over 20 years. I started with the very simple computer cards and it has evolved into completely hand made cards and projects. I started getting into more of the altered art and using collage images about three years ago and it has really expanded art work. I am also a huge fan of Tim Holtz and the whole vintage, grunge world. I think my favorite projects now are Tags and ATC's.

AKA...the mind behind One Powerful Hour.

I am a self taught Mixed Media artist that prefers to dabble in all things glittery but at the same time learn new techniques. However if it doesn't shimmer, well I just don't feel like it's done.

The concept of One Powerful Hour came to me one night after my little girl was born (#2 is due in January). I was desperate to get some play time in but just didn't know how so my husband said..."I'll take care of everything go close the studio door for an hour" and walla One Powerful Hour was born.

I am eternally grateful for all the followers and the artwork you each post I learn a lot from you. I am also very excited about the New Team members and what they will each bring to OPH. Looking forward to many more fun topics and I hope you are too.

Yes, I know it doesn't look small from the pictures but I assure you it is. The diameter of the pink chocolate wrapper is less than 2 1/2 inches and the central image with the birds is smaller than an inch! Too me that is pretty darn small. But small is up to interpretation as always...
