Sports

I see this theme on various challenge sites and I normally run the other way. I think, "I don't have a single stamp that will work for that." and well here i am using it here...

I think the theme of Sports really requires some people to think outside of the box. Now that I have created a sample I see many more sports related themes in my stamps, like sailing...I have a lovely sail boat why didn't I ever use that before?

So, take a look at those less used stamps and maybe even more obscure sports and celebrate the Athlete in you...even if your athletic ability only extends to gluing and pasting...

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Summer

I don't know about all of you but it is really really hot here...but Summer means a lot of different things to different people. To me it reminds me of vacations on the beach with my family, fresh fruits and staying up late.

So this week lets remember some of the good old times and celebrate Summer.

Can't wait to see what you create.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

One of my all time favorite movies is an 80's flick called "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" it is also the title of one of Cyndy Laupers songs that I also love and still listen to.

So this week...let's just have some fun...what, to you, does the phrase "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" mean?

I think of fun shopping trips and chatty lunches with girlfriends...

Looking forward to seeing all your creations...

Stripes

This week let's incorporate stripes into our pieces...

I have selected stripes because I feel that they lend easily to masculine cards/tags/etc...and with father's day this weekend some of us may need a little inspiration to make the perfect card for our beloved daddies. However since my dad lives 7 postage days away making a card for him today would get there late. Hence the "non father's day" theme...So Please do not feel that your piece needs to be masculine. After all the challenge is Stripes...

I can't wait to see what you create.

Viva Espana

This week Edna has selected the theme "Viva Espana" please create a piece that reminds you of Spain, has Spanish architecture or a historical figure in it...of course there are only a few of the possibilities...can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here is what Edna has to say:

I would like to thank Caroline for having me as a Guest Designer, my first time as a GD and I have enjoyed the challenge !! My husband and I lived in Spain for a long time and we loved the country. Viva Espana conjures up so many different images and I look forward to seeing what Spain means to you

For mine, I used textured black card, a vintage flamenco dancer which I printed twice, decoupaging her hand and shawl over the gilt fan, then added glitter to her bracelets, and a hint of a partner. Finally I added the tiny flower which picks up some of the pinks of her dress and the word Love. I have tried to convey the mystery and movement of flamenco, remembering many nights sitting in smoky cellar bars watching these ladies dance their hearts out to the tune of a single, brilliantly played guitar.... "

On a side note, I am really bummed that I am still in the midst of putting together the Studio b/c I grew up in Spain and love it so much! Thanks Edna for a Fabulous theme!
