Viva Espana

This week Edna has selected the theme "Viva Espana" please create a piece that reminds you of Spain, has Spanish architecture or a historical figure in it...of course there are only a few of the possibilities...can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here is what Edna has to say:

I would like to thank Caroline for having me as a Guest Designer, my first time as a GD and I have enjoyed the challenge !! My husband and I lived in Spain for a long time and we loved the country. Viva Espana conjures up so many different images and I look forward to seeing what Spain means to you

For mine, I used textured black card, a vintage flamenco dancer which I printed twice, decoupaging her hand and shawl over the gilt fan, then added glitter to her bracelets, and a hint of a partner. Finally I added the tiny flower which picks up some of the pinks of her dress and the word Love. I have tried to convey the mystery and movement of flamenco, remembering many nights sitting in smoky cellar bars watching these ladies dance their hearts out to the tune of a single, brilliantly played guitar.... "

On a side note, I am really bummed that I am still in the midst of putting together the Studio b/c I grew up in Spain and love it so much! Thanks Edna for a Fabulous theme!
